What is Raiz Academy?
Raiz which means “root” in Spanish symbolizes the starting point from which growth begins.
At Raiz Academy, our mission goes beyond teaching languages. We empower learners to build confidence, thrive in new environments, improve workplace communication, or pursue language learning as a personal journey.
Meet Our Founder
When Sashy was six, she came to the U.S from Venezuela with no knowledge of English. Her mother didn't speak the language either, and she became her mother’s interpreter while still struggling to understand the world around her. She knew the fear of being unheard, the frustration of not being able to express herself, and the loneliness of feeling invisible.
Looking back, Sashy sees how God used that season to shape her purpose. Raiz Academy is the fruit of that journey. A way to serve others, and help plant their own roots— through language learning, tutoring, and translations, so they can grow in confidence, build opportunities, and thrive in their new communities.
Daniela Chacón — Director, General Manager
At Raiz Academy, connection is at the heart of what we do, and Daniela helps carry that mission forward. As Director and General Manager, she combines her training as a psychologist with her passion for education to strengthen our programs and operations. From Venezuela, she brings a global perspective and strength to the Academy’s work, helping to expand opportunities on both sides of the border. Daniela helps ensure that Raiz Academy remains strong, and impactful.
